CHEMICAL SPILLS 1. Isolate the area where the spill occurred. Make sure no one walks through the spill area. 2. Ventilate the area to prevent buildup of spill vapors. If the area is confined or enclosed, set up fans to circulate air. 3. Put on protective gloves (rubber gloves are best) and protective eyewear before cleaning the spill. 4. Remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Refer to product label for further instructions. Wash clothing before wearing again. DRY PRODUCT SPILLS 1. Sweep the chemical into a small pile and carefully transfer to a disposable container such as a bucket. 2. Dispose of swept material in accordance with local waste provisions (store managers know the procedures that comply with local ordinances). For specific product disposal guidelines, consult the product Safety Data Sheet (SDS). To obtain an SDS, call 1-800-917-5438 or visit the product website listed in the appropriate brand section of this product catalog. LIQUID PRODUCT SPILLS 1. Absorb the chemical with an absorbent material such as sawdust, then follow the procedures listed in Dry Product Spills #2. 2. After the spill has been swept up, the spill area should be cleaned with soap and water prior to allowing employee or customer traffic back into the area. 3. The chemical spill area should be cleaned with detergents or cleaning fluids only after the chemical has been swept off the floor, as mixing detergents and chemicals could create harmful vapors. SKIN CONTACT Wash with warm, soapy water immediately. Follow the first aid directions on the product package. EYE CONTACT Flush eyes with water for 15 minutes. Seek medical treatment immediately. Refer to product label for complete instructions. IN CASE OF EMERGENCY If medical attention is sought, take the labeled container to a physician.
